CATERING: WE COOK, YOU ENJOY!
Estimated reading time: 4 minutes
We proudly prepare our Catering Kabobs (along with the rest of our dishes) from scratch in-house daily with fresh and healthy ingredients. While we always encourage you to enjoy our catering as soon as you pick them up (or have them delivered), we know you might be ordering in advance for a family dinner, corporate luncheon, birthday party, baby shower, and many more types of important events. If this is you and questions like “How do I reheat chicken kabobs” or “How do I reheat meat without drying it out” plague your mind, have no worries! The suggested guidelines (located below) will inform you on how to best hold your kabobs or reheat them so they’re just as delicious by the time you are ready to serve or eat.
HOLDING INSTRUCTIONS
Holding Instructions
These instructions are best suited for large catering trays delivered in aluminum pans when your guests or family will be eating 2 to 3 hours later.
1. Preheat the oven to the lowest possible temperature (170-180°F).
2. If using our Catering Foil Containers, remove the plastic wrap on the container but keep the foil lid on. This will help retain the moisture within the container.
3. The protein and rice may be stored in the oven for 2-3 hours. Keeping the food in the oven for extended periods may result in the drying of protein and rice. Salads may be stored in the refrigerator.
REHEATING INSTRUCTIONS
Oven (Chef’s Recommendation)
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F, remove the plastic wrap but keep the aluminum lid on the tray.
2. The foil will keep the kabob from drying out and keep all juices and flavors of the kabob.
Tip: Try placing a small container of water in the oven to enhance moisture circulation.
Reheat all proteins to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C), as recommended by the Health Department.
3. Check regularly to see that the kabobs have heated completely through. If they have not, leave them in for another 5 minutes before checking again.
Stove (Recommended if short on time)
1. Turn your stove on to low or medium heat; low is preferred to avoid overcooking.
2. Before placing the meat in the pan, heat the pan with a bit of oil or your choice of ghee. Cover the pan with a lid while reheating the meat to retain the kabob’s moisture.
Reheat all proteins to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C), as recommended by the Health Department.
3. Avoid overcooking.
Microwave (Least recommended)
Place meat in a microwave-safe bowl or dish. Medium heat is recommended to avoid drying out the meats.
1. For more moisture, add a bit of water to the meat, then cover the bowl or dish. We recommend cooking in 30s intervals and flipping in between to retain the heat.
Reheat all proteins to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C), as recommended by the Health Department.
2. Let stand for one minute, and always be careful when removing the cover (if you opted to cover your bowl or plate), as steam may burn.
Heating time is approximate and may differ due to equipment differences.
